Summarry of the book:
There is a mysterious new student at F.Scott Fitzgerald High, Jake Garrett. He looks as thought he just stepped off the
cover of the J. Crew catalog; he is the best long snapper the football team has ever had; and best of all, he hosts the
party to go to every Friday night.
All the guys want to be like him, and all the girls want to date him; but Jake only has eyes for Didi, the girlfriend
of the alpha male and quarterback Todd Buckley.
Through Jake's friend Rick, readers get to know Jake, first admiring him, then liking him, but eventually fearing him
as they learn Jake's secret.
From beloved author Gordon Korman comes a new look at age-old truths about the desire for popularity and acceptance,
and the darker side of human nature.
My opinion of the book:
I thought the book was well written but not for my age group. This book was was to easy to read and eventhought it is
about high school this is not a high school level book. I do however like Mr. Korman's style of writhing and i would
recomend this book to 6th-8th graders. The book shows what can happen when you lie your way into a "click". The real
moral of the story is just be yourself and if you want to change because you are tired of being picked on, then its alright
to change but don't get so caught up with trying to be someone you are not and lose who you are.
